Welcome to Encounter Mission!

Since 1988 we have been offering a variety of Encounter Events to schools and parishes. These are often booked as retreat days or youth groups but can also be youth rallies or weekend retreats. In every form they are all centred around giving young people the opportunity to encounter Jesus in their lives. Under the patronage of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, Encounter Mission seeks to reveal the great capacity of our lives to love ourselves and those around us through our identity in Jesus.

Encounter Events can be tailored to provide input to young people through 6 different themes:

  1. Encountering Jesus: Here we explore the personal journey of team members and their experience of responding to the invitation to ‘Encounter Jesus,’ opening opportunities for a deeper experience of God.
  2. Hands and Feet explores the topic of social justice by looking at historical leaders who have modelled what it means to live out mercy in the world, ultimately looking to the person of Jesus as the source of all justice and mercy.
  3. Do This, Do That examines the positive and negative influences in the lives of young people, how to address peer pressure and explores a follower vs. leader mentality.
  4. Steppin’ Up: Through the lens of leadership, this theme presents the opportunity to discover how God has gifted every person as a leader, seeking to inspire a life lived to the full.
  5. Facing big decisions in life? Road Trip invites young people to make their faith the key component in answering life’s biggest questions. Great for senior years!
  6. Questioning self-image is commonplace among young people. #nofilter incites the opportunity for a greater awareness of each person’s goodness and uniqueness as God created them.
